Computer Virus
1) Viruses are small programs that are created to cause harm to the computer by deleting or corrupting the data in them.
2) These are spread through data carriers like floppy discs and CD and now more frequently through emails. The virus lodges itself in the computers in infects and begin to destroy its host either immediately or on a trigger like a specific date that it is programmed to activate.
3) Computers that are protected by anti-virus software and firewalls mostly manage to destroy the virus and remain unaffected. Those without these precautions may succumb to the virus and lose valuable data. Data carried from an affected PC to another usually harbor the virus as well.
