Refrigerator Heating Coil
The heating coil is functioning for defrost heating system. It's what keeps the refridgerator and freezer frost free. Without the heating coil, ice builds up on the cooling coils and lessens the efficiency of the unit.
The heating coil is wrapped among the freezer coils. When it is turned on it melts the ice off the freezer coils. When the ice is removed the temperature sensor will find that the temperature has risen above 32 degrees Fahrenheit. At this point it will send out a signal which will turn off the heater.
